Welcome
Hi! Welcome to my online portfolio.
I am Dr Madhup Pandey, Assistant Professor in Structural Engineering at University of Nottingham, United Kingdom.
I take undergraduate and postgraduate classes on structural engineering related subjects. I carry out research on steel and composite structures and aiming to straddle the boundaries of my research to promote sustainability and circular economy by duly reducing the overall environmental footprints.
I am advancing my research with 6Rs strategy, which includes Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Repurpose and Refuse.
Should you have any queries, feel free to contact me.

I am constantly seeking highly self-motivated individuals to join my research group. Interested individuals should have a strong background in structural engineering, non-linear finite element analysis. I welcome researchers with backgrounds in structural engineering, mechanical engineering, computational mechanics, fracture mechanics, material science, aerospace engineering, and related fields.
I enthusiastically welcome enquiries from potential PhD applicants, postdoctoral fellows, research fellows, visiting scholars from the UK and international countries who are interested in the following research areas and beyond:
- High strength steel members, connections and joints
- Sustainable material and construction
- Fatigue and stress concentration factor investigation
- Static and dynamic behaviour of 3D printed materials and structures
- Steel structural members, connections and joints under cyclic and earthquake loads
- Applications of machine learning in structural engineering related projects
- Use of smart materials in structural members, joints and retrofitting
- Construction automation (Robotic welding, 3D printing, Modular construction)
- Retrofitting of existing steel, concrete and composite structures
